We all have a story to tell. However, what if you could tell that story though a single piece of jewelry? Well that’s the goal of Origami Owl, a customizable locket company started by a 14-year-old girl, Bella, in Arizona.

My cousin, Olivia, is actually an Origami Owl designer, working with you to create a piece that is special, timeless, and stylish. Check out her Lockets by Liv site online or on Facebook.

“I actually saw a post on Instagram and I loved the idea of being able to tell my story in the form of a locket,” Olivia said. “So, I did some research and the more I read, the more I fell in love with the idea and the product.”

Customers design their own unique lockets by picking out charms that best represent their life, choosing a locket and chain to display them, adding a stamped plate that add meaning as well as additional dangle charms for extra personalization.

“Each is unique to the person who buys it,” Olivia said. “Also, you can change out the charms, chains, and dangles to reflect how you feel at the moment.”

In all honesty, I haven’t bought a locket yet (Sorry, Olivia!) because there are just so many cute charms! Should I go with my love of the beach – anchor and seahorse – or love of travel – Eiffel Tower and London phonebook – or love itself with an infinity sign and heart.

While there is an initial investment (chains run from $10 to $42, lockets from $20 to $20 and charms $5 each), as Olivia pointed out, you can mix and match different parts throughout the years making a whole new necklace each time by simply changing out the charms or adding a different chain.

One of their most popular pieces is the large silver locket with crystals along with the 16-inch ball station chain, Olivia said. Something to look forward to, though, is their new link locket bracelet, coming out in November. Another cool thing -- you can have an Origami Owl party, or "jewelry bars," either at home, via Facebook or through the catalog.
