Samantha Chic: Fresh Finds: Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo

Fresh Finds: Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo

What it is: Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo

What they say: Looking for a fast way to refresh and extend your volume? This dry shampoo, containing a blend of orange citrus and grape extract, immediately refreshes and bodifies lifeless locks, instantly creating volume you can see and feel.

How to use: Shake well before use. Hold can 6-8 inches from head and spray evenly to dry hair. Comb through to remove. Works for all hair colors.

What I think: For the price, you can't really beat this dry shampoo and, let me add, it smells amazing.

It's not quite as effective as some other dry shampoos I've used, but it's super easy to use and does refresh your your hair.

I use this regularly on second day hair by flipping my head upside down, spraying along the roots, letting soak in for a moment and then using my fingers to message it in. Occasionally (depending on what my hair is doing that day) I'll brush it through as well.

In general, powder dry shampoos seem to be better than spray on ones, but this one revitalizes second-day hair while leaving behind no residue and giving it a nice, fresh scent.

I have found however, that come the third day, it's not quite as effective as soaking up oils -- which my hair gets oily quickly.

Buy it online: $5.99 for 3.4 oz.

What do you think about this product? Any tips or tricks for refreshing second day hair?

  1. I'm a big fan of dry shampoo as well and currently use Got2B's aerosol spray. I haven't found another that works better but will keep my eye out for Garnier's version! Always good to mix it up a bit.

    1. Hi Danielle, I haven't tried Got2B's version yet so maybe I'll have to check them out next. If you try the Garnier one, definitely let me know what you think! -- SC
