Samantha Chic: Fresh Finds: Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening & Strengthening Mousse

Fresh Finds: Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening & Strengthening Mousse

What it is: Oscar Blandi Hair Lift Thickening & Strengthening Mousse

What they say: Plump up. Hair Lift Mousse instantly gives any hair type a thicker, fuller, more youthful appearance.

How to use: Shake well. Point nozzle down and spray into palm. Evenly distribute throughout damp hair. Apply heat for added fullness.

What I think: I remember one time when I was in elementary school my mother had curled my hair for dance recital pictures and used more cans of hairspray than is probably good for the ozone layer.

The whole ordeal almost made us late for the photos, so she was speeding a bit and said if we got pulled over she'd say, "But you don't understand officer, her hair never holds a curl and this is the best it's ever looked. I have to get her there before they drop!"

As I've gotten older, my pin-straight hair has evolved to have some weird wave pattern to some parts of it (that's a whole other story!), but it still won't hold a curl to save my life -- until I tried this.

I've sung my praises of Oscar Blandi before (read here) and I don't know how he does it, but his products always give my hair a boost. And in this case, a little curl.

Hair products almost always make my hair look greasy or weigh it down, but this is not the case. No grease. No crunch. No weird residue. No weight.

I scrunch in scrunch in a palm full (it expands) of this mousse on towel dried hair and let it air dry for soft, beachy waves. Or I blow dry upside down for even more volume then take a curling iron to my hair to add shape. No cans of hairspray required.

Buy it online: ULTA Beauty $23 for full-size bottle

  1. My hair is the exact same! No hairspray required, really? I'm going to have to give this a try. :)

    1. I feel your pain then. I still use a light spray on my hair every single day (mostly because I love the scent of my Garnier hairspray).

But no more of that spray dry section, curl, release, spray again. Repeat over whole head then use an entire can to hold in place.

If you try it, let me know what you think! -- SC
