Samantha Chic: July 2014 Stitch Fix Review

This month marks my third Stitch Fix box. I shared with you last month about how I made some profile changes and a Pinterest board to improve my fix.

The style was a lot more on point this month, but the prices still seems a little high to me.

Here's what I got in my box. The pieces ranged from $48 to $78 each for a total of $340. After the $20 styling fee and 25% discount, the whole box could be purchased for $240.

Just Black Dean Ankle Zip Skinny Jean $78 | STATUS: Kept

This was probably my favorite item in the whole box. I've had a pair of ankle zip skinnies on my list for a while, but haven't gotten around to actually buying them yet.

I was pleasantly surprised (again!) that the jeans fit so well since I normally have an issue. So, again, this is more than I would normally pay for a pair of jeans, but since they're a mind reader and fit on the first try, I kept them.

41Hawthorn Breyson Split-Neck Tab Sleeve Knit Top $48 | STATUS: Sent Back

This shirt was bright, and I mean BRIGHT! Not that I'm against bright colors, but for some reason this was just a little too much for me.

It fit well, but it was a slightly thicker material so the sleeves didn't roll well and stay put at all. In the end, not quite worth it for the price for me.

41Hawthorn Polly Mini Chevron Print Tie-Waist Tunic $58 | STATUS: Sent Back

I'm really short waisted guys, like, really -- low rise jeans come up to my belly button!

So, tunics are tough. In fact, I don't own a single tunic because they always land in this no man's land of too short to be a dress, but too long to be a top. It had to go back.

Daniel Rainn Liv Lattice Crochet Detail Silk Blouse $78 | STATUS: Sent Back

Ugh, I really debated about this one up until it was time to drop my return items in the mail box.

I loved the color, fit, and details, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $78 on a top. So, unfortunately, it went back.

Pomelo Clarice Multi-Stripe Belted Fit & Flare Dress $78 | STATUS: Kept

My boyfriend joked that all I own is A-like dresses, which is true to a certain extent, but if it's not broke, don't fix it, right?

Needless to say, I kept this dress. The fit was perfect, the belt was a nice burnt orange color that I didn't already own, and the pattern was unique.

So, that was my third box! I felt 2 out of 5 wasn't bad. I added a note for next month asking for help finding the perfect pair of shorts, so I'm still excited to see how that turns out.
