Mascara: Different Strokes for Different Lashes

I'm all about a good mascara -- it's the one product I never leave the house without! But, if we're being honest, not all mascaras are created equal. So here's the four I keep in stock at all times...

The Every Day: ModelCo. Lashxtend Lengthening Mascara
To say I love this mascara would be an understatement. It is now the standard by which I judge all other mascaras. The formula isn't too thick, delivers the right amount for an every day look with perfect separation and length. I've never once had a clump or a flake with this mascara.

On the downside, it will run if you get caught in a heavy down pour, or ride the Maid of the Mist at Niagara Falls.

The Date Night: Benefit Bad Gal Mascara
I first got a sample of this mascara with a magazine in London during my 2009 summer internship. Maybe I keep using it out of nostalgia, either way, this baby works. When I want thick, luscious lashes, this is the one I turn to for major impact.

The wand is thick & sturdy for easy application. I actually like the wand so much, I clean old ones and hang onto them to help clean up & separate my lashes when trying other not-so-great mascaras.

The Waterproof: Covergirl LashBlast Waterproof Mascara
Covergirl was the first make-up brand I ever wore, but I started to drift after a few years. I came back when I saw their LashBlast mascara and have hung onto this one as my go-to waterproof mascara.

Waterproof versions tend to do a number of my lashes, but this one is gentle enough.

The Falsies (Without Falsies): Benefit They're Real! Mascara
Believe the hype. I didn't at first, but now I'm a convert. This mascara delivers major impact and pow to your lashes. So much so that I'm actually intimidated to use it at times.

On the downside, this mascara is tough to remove and tends to leave a little black residue around my eyes.

So, there you have it -- my four favorite mascaras! What do you think? Tell me what your favorite ones are in the comments below.
