|The view at Target when the Prabal Gurung collection launched... what to do first!?|
One store that I never fail to get overwhelmed in is Forever 21. I don't know why, because they're one of my favorites, but I do.
So over the years, I've developed a 3-point system that helps me get the most out of my store shopping. And now I'm sharing it all with you!
This doesn't have to be elaborate. Your plan could be "I'm shopping for new white t-shirts" or "I'm looking for items based on this trend" or "I'm just browsing to see what's new."
The important part is to understand WHY you're shopping. When you know the reason behind your trip, then you can narrow your focus more easily.
On more than one occasion I have successfully gone into Target just to look if a particular item went on sale yet and walked out with only that item. I had a plan and I stuck to it!
This is important. Most people enter a store and start in the front then work their way back. But, most times, all the sale items are located in the back of the store.
Head there first! If you're looking for a particular item it's always better to get it on sale, right? I can't tell you how many times I've seen an item in the sale racks that was very, very, very similar to a regular priced one I picked up.
If you don't notice it in the store, you won't notice it in your closet. Then it will sit there... unworn... for years... and you'll wonder why you even bothered in the first place.
It took me years to grasp this concept. I had to flip through every single hanger on every single rack in case I missed something awesome!
If you're shopping for a particular item, then it's OK to hunt. But if you're just browsing or looking for trends, keep in mind whether or not you'd notice it in your closet.
So there you have it! What tips & tricks do you use when you're out shopping? Tell me in the comments below.
