This is Part 2 in a three part weekly series (read Part 1 here).
So if you caught last Wednesday's post, you'll know that I won a bottle of TONI&GUY's Casual Sea Salt Texturizing Spray from Birchbox (if you're not already a member, sign up here) for hair tutorials.
In this series, I'll show you how to get three separate looks from one day of styling.
Next up: The braided half-updo!
Step 1: Start with second day wavy hair from last week's tutorial.
Spray dry shampoo around your roots to add some volume back in and soak up any oils around your head.
This version by Garnier is my favorite -- it has a fresh smell, costs only a few dollars, and gets the job done.
If you have dark hair, remember to rub it in well so there's no white residue.
Step 2: If your hair has started to fall flat, spray some more of the TONI&GUY salt spray and work into hair -- twist around your finger, scrunch, etc.
Separate two pieces of hair around your crown (you might look a little funny ...or maybe that's just me LOL)
Clip one section to the side.
Step 4: Divide the section you're working on into three parts and start to braid.
Keep braiding until you're about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way toward the end.
Step 5: Separate the three pieces of the braid. Combine the two outside pieces. Pin the one closest to the inside to keep the braid in place.
Repeat step 3 on the other section of hair.
Step 6: Undo your clip. You'll have 4 pieces (two combined sections on the outsides and two middle portions).
Combine the two middle portions to create three larger sections.
Braid down the rest of the way. Finish with a light hold hair spray.
If you want, you can touch up any curls that have fallen out.
And you're finished! What do you think? Tell me in the comments below & stay tuned for day two hair next Wednesday.
Here's what it looks like from the front...
And from the top...
