Beauty // InstaNatural Essential Oils

What it is: InstaNatural Essential Oils

What they say: InstaNatural’s Peppermint Essential Oil is a multi-purpose oil that cools, energizes and refreshes the body and mind. Our Lemon Essential Oil is extracted from the rinds of lemon, which lends its fresh citrus fragrance.

How to use: Use in tandem with an Essential Oil Diffuser to fill your living space with a clean and refreshing aroma.

What I think: I've recently been getting monthly massages and love when they use peppermint oil. So, I was excited when I was accepted into BrandBacker’s campaign to try InstaNatural’s essential oils in peppermint and lemon fragrances.

Note: Due to unavailability, I did not receive the Lavender Essential Oil.

These scents are super strong (in a good way though because they smell great). I knew immediately when they arrived because I could smell them through the box.

At first, I wasn't sure how I was going to use the oils since I don't own a diffuser. After one stressful day though, I thought: "Wouldn't a bath with some peppermint oil be relaxing?"

So, I drew a bath and added in some peppermint oil. I knew prior to this that essential oils are very concentrated, but I didn't know how concentrated. I also didn't know that too much peppermint oil can burn. I jumped out of that bath as quickly as I jumped in and my legs burned all evening.

I decided to take a different approach and started adding a few drops to the bottom of the tub before I showered. The steam helped fill the bathroom with the scents.

Peppermint was a calming, relaxing scent before bed and actually helped clear up some of my sinus/allergy problems. The lemon was great in the mornings to create an energizing and invigorating scent.

Once I got over my fear of applying them directly, I started adding 1-2 small drops of the peppermint to coconut oil and rubbing it on my feet nightly. The peppermint felt cool on my skin and left my feet feeling soft and refreshed.

Overall, I really enjoyed adding the scents to different parts of my routine. I'm a fan of Bath & Body Works lavender sleep spray at night so it was fun to figure out where else to incorporate aromatherapy.

Please exercise caution before applying directly to skin -- even when diluted! I should have tested a small area first to make sure there were no reactions. Don't repeat my mistake!

Buy it online: Amazon Peppermint Oil $19.97 & Lemon Oil $19.97
