What it is: Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes

What they say: These ultra-soft wipes are clinically proven to completely remove dirt, oil and makeup, targeting even the most stubborn long-wearing and waterproof makeup. Skin is left purified, fresh and healthy-looking with no greasy residue, so there's no need to rinse.

How to use: Gently wipe face with towelette removing dirt and all traces of face & eye makeup. There is no need to rinse. Dispose of towelette in trash receptacle (do not flush). After removing towelette, reseal pack.

What I think: I'm all about finding small ways to have a big impact, especially when it comes to our environment. But when Neutrogena issue the #WipeForWater challenge, I was a little nervous.

I've been seeing an aesthetician for a few months now to try to get a handle on the hormonal adult acne that started popping up and my face has been doing a lot better.

But now, Neutrogena wants me to do what!? Go a whole week without washing my face and only use a makeup removing wipe? Are you crazy?

Brand Ambassador Kristen Bell has been raising awareness to this campaign, and I think it's an interesting idea, especially as we hear more and more in the news about the drought in California.

So I decided I'd give it a try. I only replaced the cleansing portion of my skin care routine. I still continued to use toner, moisturizer, spot treatment, etc.

Day 1 - I wipe what I think is all the makeup off my face and it feels pretty good. However, I put toner on a cotton ball, apply to my face, and notice makeup is still coming off. Hmm, are these just not effective, or am I doing something wrong.

Day 2-3 - I realize that I'm not getting my whole face when I wipe and really start to perfect the technique. You've got to get into all those nooks and crannies. Take your time and be deliberate about getting all your make up off.

Day 4 - I notice that these wipes don't leave behind a residue or film, which I like a lot. My skin feels clean, not tight, or tacky, or greasy like with other wipes. While I haven't had any new breakouts, I notice that my existing ones are getting a little inflamed and aren't healing as fast as before.

Day 5 - Several coats of waterproof mascara for our Anniversary date prove to be a little tougher. I have to tug and wipe a good bit. The next morning I notice there's still some left behind as well.

Day 6-7 - I complete the challenge with no other issues to my skin.

Overall, these are definitely some of the best wipes I've ever come across. I have pretty sensitive skin and have been dealing with hormonal acne, but these didn't cause any irritation.

While they're obviously super effective, I don't know that I'm ready to give up washing my face altogether. However, i have been using them as a pre-cleanser to remove all my makeup first before I wash my face, which lets me cut down on the amount of soap & water I need.

What do you think? Would you go a whole week without washing your face? Tell me in the comments below!
