What it is: Dr. Brandt Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner
What they say: This gentle exfoliating mask helps loosen and extract blackheads without painful extraction tools while absorbing oil and tightening pores. Dr. Brandt’s exclusive formula combines Salicylic and Glycolic Acid to assist in the release of blackheads while Eijitsu Rose helps tighten pores.
How to use: After cleansing, apply a thin layer to areas of concern. Avoid eyes. Leave on 5 to 10 minutes until dry and product turns light blue. A cooling sensation will occur. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
What I think: I have pretty oily skin, especially on my T-zone, so blackheads are just one of those universal truths in my life that I've been dealing with for as long as I can remember.
Typically they're not too bad, but I'm still always surprised what comes out of my pores when I use a pore strip.
I got a sample of Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Vacuum Cleaner in my monthly Birchbox. While I was excited about the idea of the product, I've never been a huge Dr. Brandt fan. His products have always been just a little too strong for my skin and Madonna's face just scares me (she's a huge fan of his).
I continued forward with trying the product though. The first thing I noticed is that it's a good consistency -- not too thick and not too runny -- so it was easy to apply and stayed in place.
Next, I liked that it had a nice cooling sensation. I know, I know... all of that is just for show and doesn't have any actual benefits, but it made it feel like the product was working.
Lastly, I really liked that it turned blue when it was fully activated & finished. Again, I know this doesn't provide any benefits, but it was a nice little reminder.
The product was easy to remove with soap & water. After use, nose did feel cleaner and tighter.
Overall, I didn't get to use the product enough to know if my pores actually shrunk, but I definitely liked using this more than a pore strip and felt the results were better.
