Beauty // Camille Beckman Platinume Gold Imperial Repair Hand Therapy

What it is: Camille Beckman Platinume Gold Imperial Repair Hand Therapy

What they say: Fragranced with Indian lemongrass, white grapefruit and lemon extract, Imperial Repair Hand Therapy was designed to offer a highly natural solution to protect the skin from the toughest issues within hand care. This formula simultaneously soothes and plumps to offer hands a beautiful and youthful appearance.

How to use: Smooth generously over hands, especially after washing or bathing.

What I think: I rarely, if ever, used hand lotion in the past, but now I seem to use it year-round. It took me forever to figure out why my hands were suddenly so dry all the time (I work in healthcare PR and it turns out we have medical grade soap in the bathrooms).

So needless to say I'm all about trying new hand lotions. I've been getting a few in my Birchbox lately (which is where I got this one) and I love trying them out.

Usually my biggest issue is that they're too greasy or don't sink in quick enough, but this one was entirely different -- thought not in a good way!

I couldn't for the life of me get over the scent of this Camille Beckman hand lotion

According to the Camille Beckman website, the scent is "Indian lemongrass and sparkling white grapefruit with undertones of Parisian green."

While all of that sounds great, it didn't work when combined. I'm currently using a cucumber & grapefruit hand lotion, which I love so it's not the grapefruit. I'm not even sure what Parisian green is, but I can tell you the lemongrass was so strong!

In all honesty, the lotion smelled like straight up lemon - almost like a kitchen cleaner.

Citrus scents can be hit or miss (there are some that I like), but this was not one of them. I have seen online review where people love this scent, but I can tell you now: If you're not a fan of lemon or citrus scents, do not even try!

As a moisturizer, it was fine - it wasn't too greasy, sunk in pretty quick, left hands feeling soft. But it wasn't anything special, either.

Overall, I won't be using this hand lotion again. I didn't even finish the sample I couldn't stand it that much.

Buy it online: Birchbox $20
