What it is: Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo
What they say: Volumize your hair, and let it get naked. The formula is free of silicones, parabens, and dyes, but doesn’t withhold the revitalizing aromas of grapefruit and mossa mint oil. Invigorate your strands with everything you desire, and nothing you don't.
How to use: Gently massage into wet hair until it lathers. Then rinse thoroughly, working from root to tip so your hair is left with a weightless clean.
What I think: Some days, it feels like my whole head is an oil field (gross, I know, but that's reality).
I have very oily skin that needs daily maintenance and my scalp is no different. My hair gets so oily and greasy quickly that I need to be very specific about the type of products I use.
One such product is a clarifying shampoo, especially in the summer months (this one here is still my favorite).
When I got a sample of this Herbal Essences Naked Volume Shampoo, I didn't expect I'd end up using it as a clarifying shampoo, but I did.
My hair doesn't hold much volume ever, and while this shampoo did help with adding some body, it wasn't terribly noticeable.
What I did notice though was how clean my hair felt after using this shampoo. It really got in there and busted up all the oil and product build-up, but was super gentle.
It wasn't nearly as strong as some clarifying shampoos I've used before (probably because that's not the main purpose), which meant I could it several times a week without striping my hair too much vs. my usual weekly clarifying wash.
The shampoo itself didn't suds up as much as others I've tried, which is actually better for your hair because that means it's gentler. It also had a nice, light scent that was refreshing and invigorating.
I'll definitely be keeping this product in rotation during the summer months (I'm actually going to pick some up later today) to keep my hair fresh and clean, but still healthy.
