Necklace: Tiffany & Co. // Ring: Purchased in Greece
As Labor Day approaches, so does the unofficial end of summer. The local school district where I live in Pennsylvania actually sent kids back to school today.
While I'm a few years removed from the days of summer vacations, I still get bummed when the summer comes to an end. Summer is my favorite season, after all!
When I'm feeling down about the end of Summer though, the only cure is to get dressed up in something really sweet & summery. So, needless to say I was excited to received this beautiful Donna Morgan dress in a recent Stitch Fix box (review coming Sept. 31).
For jewelry, I kept things simple by only adding one of my favorite silver necklaces and rings.
I picked this necklace up at Tiffany & Co. two years ago when I visited New York City for the first time ever. I've always loved Tiffany jewelry and I'm a huge fan of Breakfast at Tiffany's (both the book & movie), so I promised myself if I ever made it to NYC, I'd treat myself to something from the store. The key shape reminds me to always unlock the opportunities that life presents you.
The ring is actually the Greek Key or infinity symbol, which I purchased when I visited Greece over Spring Break five years ago. When I was in Greece, I was really taken by the idea that there is an "eternal flow of things."
For hair and make-up, again I kept things simple. It's been in the 90s for weeks now so a pulled-back style is a must. A messy bun keeps hair off of your face, but also adds to the romantic element. I know a topknot is in right now, but I think a high bun right at the top of your crown is most flattering.
A swipe of bright pink lipstick (I'm wearing this version from LAQA&Co.) again adds to the girly and romantic element and is a fun pop of color.
