What it is: Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara by Grow Luscious

What they say: Our formula’s lacquer film technology and intense color pigments deliver a lustrous, deep color to lashes. The Lash Stretch brush pulls the formula’s high-shine, lengthening fibers from root to tip and beyond.

How to use:  Sweep mascara upwards from root to tip, wiggling brush slightly to build additional volume.  Repeat as desired for an increasingly dramatic lash look.
What I think: If there's one product I never leave the house without, it's mascara. A quick swipe always makes me look more awake and fresh-faced.

However, during the day I like to keep it on the simple side -- I need a mascara that defines and separates without looking over-the-top (save that for a night out). I've tried a lot of mascaras, but I always end up going back to the same one (read here).

I had high hopes for this Revlon version when I got a tube to try out. I hadn't used a lot of Revlon products before, but I've been loving on the looks on Emma Stone (one of their spokeswomen), especially this mascara.

In terms of the brush, I liked this one a lot. I tend to like bristled brushes better than the plastic ones. I find they give the most natural definition to your eyelashes without clumping or pulling.

The formula swept on easy and provided a nice, natural look with just one coat. My lashes instantly looked darker, more defined and longer. A couple of coats could be layered for a more intense look.

However, as the day wore on, I noticed more and more flaking around my eyes. The formula dried our really quickly leaving my lashes feeling brittle and flakes of mascara all over my face.

As a contact wearer, this became problematic pretty quickly since the flakes kept getting into my eyes.

Overall, I wanted to like this mascara, but the flaking was just too much for me.
