What I think: Earlier this year I started seeing an aesthetician because my face was breaking out so much that I could never seem to get a handle on it.
Growing up I had super, super oily skin with blackheads. Now that I'm an adult, my skin has shifted a bit (it's still super oily) to have some dry spots around my cheeks, and more breakouts around my chin. Needless to say, I wasn't sure how to tackle these new problems, especially the adult acne.
My aesthetician started recommending the AVEDA brand to me since it's gentle and natural but still packs a punch. The first product she recommended is the AVEDA Outer Peace Foaming Cleanser.
This cleanser really has made a different in my skin! Growing up I used really strong cleansers with large amounts of salicylic acid since I was so oily and blackhead prone, but those started to be really drying as an adult.
Then I switched to more creamy cleansers, but those were too much for my oily spots and I broke out more. I needed to find a good balance, which is what this forming cleanser does for my skin.
It doesn't strip moisture from my drier cheeks, but it cleans away all the dirt and oil on my T-zone and around my chin. If I go a day or two without using this cleanser (either traveling or trying another product), my skin goes nuts again and starts acting up.
I use this cleanser twice a day -- once in the morning before putting on products or makeup, and once at night after I've removed my makeup using a wipe (lately I've been using these ones from Neutrogena).
For the most part, I always remove my makeup first either with a wipe, or a cotton ball soaked in makeup remover, before I cleanse that way the product's ingredients can really get down in there and I get a good clean.
I've had such good results just switching up my routine to consistently include this one cleanser, that I'm considering buying the whole AVEDA Outer Peace line.
