What it is: Garnier Skin Renew BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector

What they say: Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Eye provides 5 instant results: corrects dark circles, minimizes puffiness, awakens skin, evens skin tone and hydrates all in one simple step. B.B. Cream is a hybrid formula that offers advanced skincare + immediate skin perfecting coverage, combining several beauty routine steps in one single product.

How to use:  Gently roll Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Eye under the eye from the inner corner to the outer corner, one to two times, while applying gentle pressure to the tube. Use finger to smooth in any excess. Apply morning and as needed throughout the day. This moisturizing eye care + concealing mineral pigments easily blends into skin for sheer natural coverage.
What I think: There are very few times I rush out to get a product as soon as I read about it. Actually, if I really think about it, I never do that! But I did with this one - the same week it launched.

I really wanted to like this product because it would combine two of my morning steps. I like using an eye roller in the morning (read my review here) and I need concealer every day (this one is my favorite so far), so it makes sense.

And in theory, I kind of did like this product, but in practice it wasn't for me. I actually ended up picking this product up, using it for a few days, then tossing it aside so many times, a full calendar year went by before I used it up.

My biggest problem with the product was the shades available -- there were only TWO! That's right. Only TWO shades! Even the lightest shade available (fair/light) was way too dark for me, especially when you consider that concealer should actually be a shade or two lighter than your regular skin tone.

In the winter months especially this product was way too dark for me. Whenever I wore it, I probably looked like I had no clue how to wear make up because it was painfully obvious this concealer was way too dark for me, which in turn drew more attention to my dark circles.

Once summer rolled around it got a little bit better, but I still never darkened up enough (because I wear SPF every day!) to even match the shade, let alone have it be a shade lighter than my skin.

Secondly, I didn't quite like the formula. Not only was the shade not correct, but the formula is quite sheer as well so it provided next to no coverage without layering it on, which then made the shade even darker. See how this became a vicious cycle...

The one to two swipes underneath that they recommend just did not provide enough coverage to cover my dark circles, which have actually gotten a lot better in recent years.

Coloring aside, I really liked the packaging and in theory, I would have loved this product if they formula and shades were updated.

It was really easy and quick to apply. And rolling out the concealer felt really cool and nice under my eyes in the morning and helped to depuff them if I didn't get a good amount of sleep.

I did eventually use up this concealer in the summer months when I also had a BB Cream that was too dark for my skin that needed used up. But unless they change the shades and formula, I definitely won't be buying this product again.
