Living // Kiss Goodbye to MS
For the next few weeks, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is encouraging everyone to "Kiss Goodbye to MS" by wearing red lipstick, sharing their photo using #KissGoodbyeToMS and asking others to do the same. So I am here doing just that...
This is part of their fundraising effort from now until Valentine's Day to raise the necessary funds to make multiple sclerosis a thing of the past.
As many of you know since I've shared this story before, my father was officially diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in the summer of 2013.
MS is an auto-immune disease that affects the central nervous system. Symptoms include fatigue, difficulty moving, chronic pain, depression, muscle spasms and more. It damages the cells in the brain and spinal cord making it difficult for the person to maintain control over their body.
There is currently no cure for MS and there are very few treatments to help with symptoms, especially for primary progressive MS. So it's vitally important that funds are raised to help research, test, and find treatments and eventually a cure for MS.
I would like to urge everyone to get involved in any way that you can -- share this post with friends and family, post your own red lip selfie with #KissGoodbyeToMS on social media, make a donation to the National MS Society, or join a Walk MS or Bike MS group.
Every little bit helps! We can't do it alone, but together, we can beat this!
Thank you for your support!
P.S. For anyone interested in my lip color, the base is a pink-red called Sydney from Mirenesse with a layer of TONYMOLY's Delight Tony Tint in Red (from my January Birchbox) on top.
