One of my favorite things about living in the LA area now is exploring new places and getting to go to little shops we didn't have access to before in our much smaller community.
Because the weather here is fluctuating a bit due to El Nino, I decided to layer up a bit for this trip. Overall though, I've loved the weather here!
The sweater paired perfectly with my new LC Lauren Conrad Runway suede jacket. Also, these American Eagle jeans are super comfy and hold their shape well. They're currently offering buy one, get one 50% off!
Lastly, these Target booties kept with the neutral color palette. These booties have served me well for several years now -- I actually wore them for my first ever outfit post here in 2012!
However, when we walked in I quickly learned that "used books" meant used comic books. I felt a little like Penny on the Big Bang Theory going down to the comic book store with the guys - hah!
That being said though, I love to read and love visiting book stores and libraries. Since I've been out of college for a few years now, I've tried to make it a point to read more novels for fun -- I used to loathe reading textbooks in school!
I had quite a collection of paperback books and then Ryan got tired of helping me move them from apartment to apartment so he got me a Kindle Paperwhite for my birthday two years ago. I absolutely love my Kindle!
I've been trying to read 20 books a year, but it's coming in closer to 10. So hopefully this year, I can read at least one a month and end at 12!
Here are the last 10 books I read:
-- Persuasion by Jane Austen
-- The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
-- The Royal We by Heather Cooks
-- Shopaholic to the Rescue by Sophie Kinsella
-- A Desirable Residence by Madeleine Wickham
-- The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares
-- The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
-- In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner
-- Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg
-- The Meaning of Maggie by Megan Jean Sovern
