I'm not sure if it's been completely obvious, but if you look at the last few months of outfit posts compared to the prior year, you'll notice I'm wearing a lot more jeans and a lot less dresses.
I went on a job interview where the person interviewing me was in all yoga gear, sneakers and ball cap at 11 a.m., which would never, ever happen on the East Coast!
It seems like yoga gear is a religion here. Everyone wears it all the time in every situation. The few times I do get "dressed up" (and by dressed up I mean a day dress or dark wash jeans & nice sweater) a few people have asked if I have a special occasion later - hah!
I'm not sure I'll ever be completely on the yoga pants bandwagon. And for as much as I love dresses though because they're one piece and you're done, I've got to say jeans with a tank or tee and a light jacket (or in this case a cardigan) is my all-time favorite outfit.
These Pistola jeans are actually from my February Stitch Fix box. As I mentioned then, when I first pulled them out I wasn't even going to try them on because I thought they'd never fit. Low and behold though, they're actually super comfy and hold their shape throughout the day.
Since the jeans are a light wash (a step out of my comfort zone for me), I decided to go darker on top with this Banana Republic tank I score for just a few bucks in a Poshmark bundle. A light cardigan and neutral belt & shoes finish the look.
Ideally I would have paired brown flats that match my belt with this outfit, but I don't have a pair right now. In my purge of items to move across the country, they got cut and I haven't invested in new ones yet. So my trusty TOMS stepped in (no pun intended, well, maybe).
For now, this is as laid back as I'll probably get... but who knows, maybe in a year I'll be telling you guys how to take your leggings from work to cocktails!
What do you think? How does your situation impact how you dress? Tell me in the comments below!
