What it is: Exuviance Gentle Cleansing Creme

What they say: This comfort-rich cleanser gently removes makeup, surface oils and impurities without altering the skin's natural moisture balance. The soothing creme formulation is blended with an anti-aging Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA), along with skin conditioners and nourishing botanicals to soften and soothe while improving the skin's texture.

This dermatologist developed soap-free cleanser is highly moisturizing and ideal for dry or sensitive skin. It's also wonderful as a makeup remover and can be rinsed or tissued off for a clean, refreshed complexion.

How to use: Moisten hands and face. Pump product onto fingertips and massage onto face and neck using an upward circular motion. Tissue off or rinse thoroughly with warm water, and pat dry. Recommended for use in both the morning and evening.

What I think: Having a combination of oily, acne-prone, and sensitive skin means I'm always trying to find a cleanser with the perfect balance to combat all problems. Plot twist: I don't think it exists, but that doesn't mean I still don't love trying to find it.

When I got the chance to try the Exuviance Gentle Cleansing Creme I was curious to see how it would well it would work, especially since it's formulated to be super gentle on sensitive skin.

After the first use though, I realized this probably wouldn't be the best cleanser for me; however, that doesn't mean I still can't use it.

A little bit about the cleanser first - it's super creamy, as the name would imply. It really doesn't foam up or anything, but feels a lot like rubbing lotion onto your face. Even after rinsing, it leaves behind the feeling of just apply lotion all over your face.

The cleanser has a really light scent and it's also formulated with poly-hydroxy acid, which is like alpha hydroxy acids (or AHAs) that exfoliate your skin, but a lot gentler.

For me, personally, this probably wouldn't be a great every day cleanser because it's so rich and creamy. While great for the sensitive nature of my skin, creamy products like that tend to aggravate my acne-prone skin.

This cleanser would be perfect for dry skin, or if you have oily, acne-prone skin, like me, you could use it a few different ways.

First, it works great as a makeup remover. I'm a big proponent of dual cleansing (cleansing to remove makeup first and then cleansing a second time to deep clean and treat). Because of the rich and creamy nature of this cleanser, it's great for gently removing makeup.

Secondly, if you, also like me, tend to be rushed in the morning, this would be a great morning cleanser to combine washing and applying lotion into one step.

Since it leaves behind a just lotioned, moisturize feeling you could use it and go out the door while your skin stays hydrated. Any product that can eliminate a step from my morning routine is great in my book!

Overall, like I said, I don't think it's the perfect cleanser to make my everyday go-to, but there are still ways I plan on working it into my routine.
