So, one of my absolute favorite things about living in the Los Angeles area now are the consignment, secondhand, and thrift shops! There’s so many of them with so many fabulous items.

In all honesty, I haven’t been shopping a whole lot because we’re on a budget and paying off stuff from the move still, but the few times I have, it’s pretty much been exclusively at secondhand stores (minus one time buying a new shirt at Target and last week at H&M when I had a coupon from recycling old clothing).

Ryan and I consistently say the best thing about the LA area is that there is something for everyone when it comes to interests, hobbies, outdoor activities, food, etc.

And the same is true with secondhand stores -- from super thrifty Goodwills where you can find Calvin Klein jeans for $5 to upscale consignment shops in Beverly Hills with barely worn high-end designers for a fraction of the price.

During one of my hunts through the thrift store, I found this bright blue Saint Tropez West tank, which I knew would be perfect with my blue suede heels and flats!

It would be easy to throw the tank on with black jeans and a leather jacket for an edgier look, or my light washed ripped jeans and the flats for a casual weekend outfit.

But I thought it would be fun to play with colors so I matched this with my aqua/mint (not quite sure what the color is exactly - depends on the lighting) skirt for a dressier date night look.

While this much color can be overwhelming, the key here is to work within the same color palette the shoes and tank match, and the skirt, while different, is still a shade of blue. If I were to have paired the tank with, say, a bright yellow skirt the outfit would still be good, but the colors would be a little bit bold and overwhelming.

I decided to punch up my makeup with a bright lip. I ALWAYS get a ton of compliments when I wear this LAQA & Co. lip color (it’s Pinkman). The blue undertones of the berry color 1) match well with my skin tone and 2) usually plays up well with blue outfits as well.

As a random side note, while I was editing the pictures for today, I quickly realized that almost every outfit I’ve worn in the past month has had blue as the main shade. What can I say? It’s my favorite color! If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it - right?
