Samantha Chic: The one in in Vegas - Part 1 & 2...

The one in in Vegas - Part 1 & 2...

A couple weeks ago, Ryan was out job training at the Hoover Dam, which is right near Las Vegas so I decided to join him for his weekend off, which happened to be Memorial Day.

It was actually my first time in Vegas and while they say "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas," I've decided to share a few snaps from the trip...

In terms of packing, I wore these dressy jeans from Express that I got on sale for $35 (they're still on sale and available in select sizes!) with a crop top for the first night out. Even though they look a little more dressed up (sorry I don't have a good photo), they're super comfy. They may just be my new favorite pair of jeans!

Also, I'm obsessed with Old Navy's Boyfriend shorts right now. The 3" inseam pair of have enough coverage but still feel young, the legs have a bigger cut to accommodate those of us without a thigh gap, and they just feel good on. I scooped mine up on sale, but they're definitely worth paying full price! Several styles are still on sale...

Most of our trip included eating, drinking and walking around the Strip. Neither of us are gamblers, if we're being honest, though I did play $4 just to say I did... I hit a high of $17 and then lost it all!

It was ridiculously hot that weekend (though not as hot as this week), so we stopped inside the Bellagio to grab some gelato from a little shop, aptly named Cafe Gelato - so good! It was so good in fact, neither of us got a photo of of it.

We also ate at Guy Fieri's Vegas Kitchen & Bar, which I'm not going to lie, it didn't really live up to the hype. Ryan and I both love Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and expected a little more. It wasn't bad by any means, but just not amazing.

Since this trip was something we just spontaneously did, we didn't get a chance to plan anything specific (such as restaurant reservations, shows, etc). We definitely plan on going back and catching some shows, especially Cirque du Soleil!

I think my favorite thing though in Vegas was watching the Bellagio Fountain show! I loved how creative they got with different types of music - everything from Classical to Classic Rock to modern Pop Hits. The shows run every 30 minutes during the day, and then every 15 minutes after 8 p.m. until midnight. Definitely worth checking out!
